were selling art at Monsterama this past weekend - a totally awesome new monster-centric convention here in Atlanta - and I discovered something pretty annoying. An acquaintance of mine was chatting with us at our table and then he pointed to my Gigan poster ( fav.me/d6c4qkr
) and exclaimed, "Hey! I bought this at Wizard World Atlanta!"
Friends, I have never been to a Wizard World convention in my life. This fact, combined with my acquaintance's noting that his version was of a lower quality than the print I sell, leads to only one delightful conclusion: Someone is bootlegging my artwork! Huzzah! Unfortunately, I'm much too annoyed to be properly flattered by this, I'm afraid. More unfortunate still is the fact that we have NO idea who the offending vendor is, apart from the fact that they mostly deal in posters. If any of you folks out there have seen or have seen this vendor or any other vendor bootlegging my artwork, please let me know so I can maybe possibly one day put a stop to their shenanigans. Believe me, if you bought a print from me directly, you would know. I wear hats and vests, I am generally pretty manic, and I probably spent most of the transaction jabbering your ear off about our special effects film projects. ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES.
Thank you for your time! Cheers~!
